Component-based signatures are built to recognise patterns, thus protecting not only against known attacks, but unknown ones as well.
Signatures are automatically generated from live Internet activity collected by a global grid of sensors and pushed to the device in real time.
This ensures high accuracy and zero-day protection.

To activate the IPS option on your appliance:

1. Register on the NetDefend Centre to take advantage of the free 3-month trial period.
2. At the end of the trial period, you can purchase a further 12-month subscription package.
3. This package includes the authorisation code that must be entered on to the device configuration page.
4. Once this is done, the device continues to receive signature updates.
